Via Roma - Via Francigena in San Francisco

Pietralunga is one of the intermediate steps of this trail, that is part of a wider European cultural route that leads from Vienna to Italy, along the Venetian area south to Rome, through Umbria and Lazio in places linked to the saint of Assisi. After the Umbria, this path is grafted on the Way to Francesco of Rieti Valley. The journey is undertaken for penitential reasons or simply to enjoy a time of serenity and meditation in nature, experiencing a different size and scanning time, the slow pace over a distance of 20-25 kilometers a day on average. Once in Rome, the Via Francigena ends by continuing Milvian Bridge along the bike path on the right side, with a visit to the Basilica of St. Peter.
